The Role

The Lead Senior Revenue Accountant will be responsible for overseeing daily revenue operations, including contract compliance with BeyondTrust’s internal revenue policies in addition to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, account reconciliations, month-end close processes, and analyzing revenue related activity and financial results for monthly reporting purposes. The Lead Sr. Revenue Accountant will assist in managing daily tasks performed by the other revenue accountants, close tasks and deadlines. The Lead will serve as the primary point of contract for team members regarding daily activities and priorities as communicated by management, in addition to providing feedback around process and system challenges and suggestions for improvements. The Lead will also partner with various areas of the business such as Order Management, Billing, Professional Services, Business Applications, etc. to develop and maintain business processes and practices that support the company’s operational and financial goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Reviewing sales contracts/documents to ensure revenue is recognized according to the company’s revenue recognition policies and ASC 606.
  • Staying up to date on ASC 606 and facilitating discussions with the team as it relates to interpreting the guidance related to revenue treatment of the company’s business transactions
  • Owning the day-to day revenue activities, account reconciliations, and all month-end close processes
  • Serving as the first line of support for team members by answering questions and providing assistance with daily tasks
  • Providing timely reporting around risks related to deadlines and/or accomplishing tasks/projects
  • Analyzing revenue related activities for trend and variance analyses on revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled AR accounts and preparing findings to present to management
  • Continuously analyzing processes and procedures for efficiency and control improvements
  • Documenting and presenting process/system enhancements to management
  • Partner with the Quote-To Cash team and/or Revenue Accounting Operations on deal requirements that have revenue impact
  • Prepare interim and year-end audit deliverables
  • Assist with various ad-hoc projects as needed

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 4-5 years’ direct work experience in revenue accounting (ASC 606)
  • Experience working at a SaaS company
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in accounting software applications
  • Strong excel skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
